"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file."

1. Double-click "My Computer" to open Folder Options, select the file type, "New ** e.
2. Click "Advanced", choose "application".
3. Click "OK". And then exit.
4. Try to open programs.

If the above method doesn't wprk. Please try the following methods:

First, Under WINDOWS \ SYSTEM32 \ , change CMD.EXE to CMD.COM.


Open CMD,

At the command prompt box, enter ASSOC.EXE = EXEFILE

Option One:

First, rename regedit.exe as regedit.com or regedit.scr.

Run regedit.com, locate HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ exefile \ shell \ open \ command key, change the default value to "% 1"% *

Restart, and then change regedit.com back to regedit.exe.

Option2:

The contents of the following is saved as exefile.reg, double-click to import it to the registry; or in pure dos, run regeditexefile.reg, import it to the registry. (Note: leaving behind REGEDIT4 a blank line)

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ exefile \ shell \ open \ command]
@ = "\"% 1 \ "% *"

Option3 (for Win2000/XP):

1, Rename cmd.exe to cmd.com or cmd.scr.

2, run cmd.com

3, run the following two commands:

ftypeexefile = "% 1"% *

assoc.exe = exefile

4, change cmd.com back to cmd.exe
